All of the programs and files on your computer are stored on your hard disk. You can check the free space on your hard disk to make sure the computer will not run out of room.
1.
Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.

Click the hard disk you want to check.
The total size and available free space appear in the Details pane at the bottom of the folder window.
To see additional information about your hard disk, including a pie chart that shows how much free space is available on the disk, right-click the hard disk, and then click Properties.
The primary storage device located inside a computer. Also called a hard drive or hard disk drive, it is where your files and programs are typically stored.
