Speaker settings in Windows Media Player

Use the Speaker Properties dialog box in Windows Media Player to select the audio output device you want to use and to change speaker settings as follows:

If you have a Sony/Philips digital interface (S/PDIF) connector between your computer and your consumer audio device, you can play files that have been encoded using the Windows Media Audio 9 Professional codec over the connector. Note that DirectX 9.0b or later must be installed on your computer to use the S/PDIF connector. For information about installing DirectX, see the Microsoft DirectX website.

To access these options, do the following:

1.

Click the arrow below the Sync tab, and then click More Options.

2.

In the Devices tab, click Speakers, and then click Properties.

3.

Select the options you want.
