Turn on customizations in Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED
Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED comes with several (RED)-themed customizations, including six new desktop wallpapers, a new screen saver, two new Windows Sidebar gadgets, and a new Windows DreamScene.
Here’s how to turn on each (PRODUCT) RED–themed customization:
To choose one of the six custom desktop backgrounds in Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED:
1.
Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Desktop Background.
2.
In the Picture Location list, click Windows Wallpapers.
3.
In the list of desktop backgrounds, scroll until you see the Unspecified category, and then click one of the six (RED)-themed desktop backgrounds: RED Bloom, RED Dell, RED Earth, RED Flourish, RED Ice Flourish, or RED Texture.

Under How should the picture be positioned, choose how you would like the background to appear on screen, and then click OK.
To turn on the custom screen saver in Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED:
1.
Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.
2.
In the Screen saver list, click Productred, and then click OK.
Windows Sidebar is a long, vertical bar that is displayed on the side of your desktop. The Sidebar contains mini-programs called gadgets. Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED includes a (RED) clock gadget and a (RED) URL gadget. To add the (RED)-themed gadgets to your Sidebar:
1.
Open Windows Sidebar by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Windows Sidebar.
NoteIf your (PRODUCT) RED computer has a sidebar program other than Windows Sidebar pre-installed, you might see a dialog box asking if you want to enable the new sidebar. If this dialog box appears, click Yes, enable new sidebar.
2.
Click the Start button , and then click Computer.
3.
In the Address bar, type (or copy and paste) the following: C:\dell\red\recovery\gadgets\vista\

Press ENTER.
5.
Double-click clockr and red to add the (RED)-themed gadgets to your Sidebar. If a security warning appears, click Install.
The (RED) clock and (RED) URL gadgets in Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED
Windows DreamScene is a Windows Ultimate Extra that animates your desktop by using brief video clips. It is only available in Windows Vista Ultimate.
To turn on the (RED)-themed animation, first you must download and install Windows DreamScene:
1.
Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.
2.
In the left pane, click Check for updates.
3.
When Windows finishes checking for updates, click View available Extras.
4.
Select the Windows DreamScene check box, and then click Install. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
5.
If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.
Once you've installed Windows DreamScene, you need to select the new (RED)-themed video as your desktop background. Here's how:
1.
Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Desktop Background.
2.
In the Location list, click Public Videos, and then, in the list of videos, click leaves.
3.
Under How should the picture or video be positioned, choose how you want the DreamScene to appear on screen, and then click OK.
"Leaves" is a new DreamScene for Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED
