The easiest way to locate and view pictures on your computer is by using Windows Photo Gallery. By default, Photo Gallery shows all the pictures and videos that are located in the Pictures folder, but you can add other folders to Photo Gallery. You can search for pictures and videos by typing in the Search box or by clicking tags, ratings, or dates in the Navigation pane.
Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
In the Navigation pane, under Tags, click a tag to see all of the pictures and videos using that tag.

Find a picture by multiple tags
Press the CTRL key and click multiple tags to see all of the pictures and videos that include any of those tags.
Find a picture by file name or tag
Type the name of the file or tag in the Search box. You can type the entire name, or just the first few letters.

Find a picture by file extension
Type the file extension in the Search box to quickly limit the results to certain file formats, such as .jpg, .tif, or .wmv.
Find a picture by year, month, or date taken
In the Navigation pane, under Date Taken, click a year to see all of the pictures and videos taken during that year, or expand the year to select a month or date.
Find a picture by multiple dates
Press CTRL and click multiple dates to see all of the pictures and videos taken on any of those dates.
Find a picture by rating
In the Navigation pane, under Ratings, click a set of stars (from Not Rated to five stars) to see all of the pictures and videos that have been marked with that star rating.

Press CTRL and click multiple sets of star ratings to see all pictures and videos that have been marked with any of those star ratings.
